About KAPILUX® Capillary System
KAPILUX® is an insulating glass which incorporates a capillary slab within the glass cavity. This capillary slab is comprised of honeycombed, clear or white tubes. KAPILUX® is available in varied styles and configurations.
- Optimum, uniform light transmittance into the room, irrespective of irradiation conditions
- Light transmission and total solar energy transmittance (as required)
- Very good color rendering index
- Very good heat insulation
- Sound insulation (as required)
- UV protection (as required)
- Attractive appearance in daylight and in artificial light
- Partial through-vision, effect of depth
- Visibility for birds

KAPILUX® is an insulating glass with an integrated capillary slab. The type “T” description stands for a capillary slab made from clear material. The front-directed light dispersion of KAPILUX®T significantly improves the depth of daylight illumination. Light penetrates deeply into the interior space, even on cloudy days.
The percentage of both direct and diffused light transmission can be individually tailored to the facade orientation and the interior conditions. Solar heat gain and U-Values can also be customized to the needs of the project.
Additional properties of KAPILUX® include partial transparency, a vivid optical appearance and a stunning effect of depth.

KAPILUX® is an insulating glass with integrated capillary slab. The type “W” description stands for a capillary slab made from white material.
KAPILUX®W is an extremely effective glass for the control of glare. The white capillaries channel the light into the building evenly, minimizing hot spots, contrast issues or shadows. Solar heat gain, light transmission, and U-Values can be tailored to the need of the project.
Additional properties of KAPILUX® include partial transparency, a vivid optical appearance and a stunning effect of depth.

The capillaries in KAPILUX®WS are normally positioned perpendicular to the glass surfaces. Some hot spots are, therefore, possible when the sun is near horizon level and shines on a vertical Western-facing facade. When the capillaries in KAPILUX®WS are cut at a sloped angle, direct transmission and hot spots can be largely eliminated throughout the day. KAPILUX®WS offers:
- Protection against the entrance of direct sunlight at near 90 degree angles to the glass.
- Improved light diffusion and distribution of the daylight.
- Partial transparency on the adjacent side of the axes.

Transparent thermal insulation is a method of construction which allows to utilize solar energy as room heating after a time delay. Thus, walls become energy utilizing areas.
KAPILUX®TWD – in combination with a massive absorbing wall – provides:
- High solar transmission for a maximum energy gain
- Excellent thermal insulation
- Storage of solar energy for the room heating
- Reducing the amount of required heating energy
